The University of Indianapolis invites applications for a non-tenure-track Field Coordinator to coordinate the Phylis Lan Lin Program in Social Work's field program, a one-year visiting faculty position.
The field coordinator oversees all aspects of the BSW Field Program, including screening and working with field supervisors, arranging appropriate placements for students, and teaching field education seminars. Additional responsibilities include serving as field liaison and traveling to various sites, teaching, student advising, service-learning activities, department and community service, research, and scholarship.
Qualifications include an MSW from a CSWE-accredited school with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of post-MSW social work practice experience. Licensure (LMSW/LCSW) preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience in directing and coordinating field practica and who possess the ability to interface well with practitioners, agencies, community representatives, students, faculty, and staff. Additional practice experience beyond the minimum, previous teaching experience, and excellent mentoring skills are highly desirable. Computer/technology expertise, strong organizational skills, and familiarity and connections to local area social services agencies are highly preferred.
A year-round field program requires Field Coordinator responsibilities during the fall, spring, and summer terms. Responsibilities for this 10-month appointment are disbursed over 11 months, with reduced load during fall and spring to compensate for summer.

Regularly attends weekly Home Based Services staff meeting and is prepared to discuss issues that affect clients, staff, the agency and the community if needed.

Participates in case conferences and court proceedings as necessary for client care
Participation in 24-hour on-call rotation with HBS Case Coordinators

Pursue advanced education, such as a Ph.D. or doctorate of social work, as well as post-master’s clinical fellowships
Perform duties at Marine Corps Community Services and Counseling Centers
Specific Requirements
Master of social work (MSW) from a graduate school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
Minimum of two years’ full-time supervised clinical social work experience (post-master’s degree)
Current licensure/certification as a clinical social worker by the jurisdiction where practicing; licensure/certification must allow the social worker to practice independently
Preferred Requirements
Experience in mental health (inpatient and outpatient) with knowledge and skills in: diagnosis, evaluation and treatment; medical social work, case management and discharge planning; family violence, including child and spousal abuse; and developmental delays in children
Supervisory program management or other leadership experience
Knowledge, skill and comfort in working with diverse populations from various cultural backgrounds
