Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Conducts an initial meeting with offenders to provide them information about the INSOM Program and to obtain their consent for participation in Phases I and II of the INSOMM Program. Writes conduct reports on all offenders who refuse participation in the INSOMM Program.
2) Facilitates counseling and psycho-educational group sessions in accordance with the program’s curriculum for sexual offenders.
3) Performs Static-99’s, and reviews offender files to assist in evaluation of program participants for risk of recidivism, symptoms of mental disorders/substance abuse, psychosexual problems, and behavioral problems.
4) Monitors participants’ progress/lack of progress in program.
5) Participates in staff meetings, case conferences, case presentations, and other training activities.
6) Provides consultative support to program, correctional/security staff and related behavioral health providers, including attendance at inter-departmental meetings, within the scope of education, training and capability.
7) Helps facilitate referrals to necessary psychiatric, mental health, substance abuse, medical services or other specialized care/services as directed.
8) Performs administrative duties including writing of progress notes and Summary Reports, compiling monthly utilization statistics and forwarding of this data to the Team Leader/Clinical Director, and attending staff meetings.
9) Performs other duties as assigned by Team Leader or Clinical Director.
Requirements
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
1) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, social work or related human services field.
2) Minimum equivalent of 1 year full-time experience working with criminal, forensic, or psychiatric populations. Experience with sexual offenders preferred.
3) Ability to learn clinical assessments, procedures and methods, particularly those for sexual offenders.
4) Ability to provide psycho-educational programming in individual and group modalities.
5) Good public speaking and/or educational skills.
6) Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and maintain objectivity with a challenging or manipulative population.
7) Excellent learning capacity in order to expand current skills/knowledge and to transfer this knowledge to other staff.

Become part of a team serving as consultants helping congregations starting these new programs, and leading LDM's residential summer camps and weekend retreats in the fall/winter/spring. Evening, weekend and summer work required with comp time as part of the weekly schedule. Must have experience with adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and a strong desire to be part of a Christian ministry and share their faith.
