Social Work Self Care Group (Members Only)
Have you ever felt isolated from social work colleagues? Are organizational stresses and client caseloads getting to you? If so, you might want to participate in the Social Work Self Care Group. The group goals are to offer a safe place for support, sharing and collaboration. The group is not meant as a substitute for supervision or therapy, but is open to any NASW member who believes they can benefit from mutual social worker support. The group is open ended and standard ground rules related to confidentiality and group norms will be applied. If you are interested, attend on the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm at the NASW Office. (If you cannot attend in person, phone conferencing is available.) For further questions, contact naswin@naswin.org or 317-923-9878.
Greetings to all Region 7 members out there!
We are so excited to be able to introduce ourselves as your new Region 7 Representatives. Many thanks to the wonderful work and effort that Elizabeth and Brenda put into making our region rock last year, we hope that we can keep the momentum going this year, but we are definitely going to need your support! Please send us your project, event, activity, and speaker ideas, and we’ll see what we can do to make sure they happen. We are here to represent you, this is your membership, please help us to make sure you get the most out of it. We are trying to make it out to all the corners of our region with our networking events, so we hope to get a chance to meet all of you very soon! Until then, we would like to leave you with a thought from Jane Addams, Action Indeed is the Sole Medium of Expression for Ethics.
With that, we would like to remind all of our members to please submit your nominations for Social Worker of the Year and Citizen of the Year! How often do we feel as though our actions and deeds go unnoticed and unappreciated, what better recognition for someone than to be acknowledged for their service and expression of hope through presentation of this award!
We look forward to serving you,
Holly Gray and Simona Stoica
