Education Network Meetings and Community Projects
In the spirit of gratitude, Region 2 is hosting a community service day at Feed the Children in Elkhart on Saturday, November 21 at their warehouse. Volunteer commitment is from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes as you will be moving around. The warehouse is chilly so dress in layers. Please RSVP so we know how many people we have.

We will be having an optional ornament exchange so if you want to participate, please bring a wrapped ornament (does not have to be Christmas)
Entrées at the Vine range from $6-7, sandwiches and salads to $10 for pasta. It is more expensive for steaks. Wine is $6-7 a glass.

IN ANTICIPATION OF NATIONAL SOCIAL WORK MONTH NEXT MARCH, REGION 2 IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT BONNIE BAZATA WILL BE FACILITATING A ½ DAY CONFERENCE TO TRAIN SOCIAL WORKERS HOW TO WORK WITH CLIENTS WHO ARE LIVING IN A CULTURE OF POVERTY. She will be using the “Bridges out of Poverty” model. THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD IN SOUTH BEND DURING THE DAY BUT DETAILS HAVE NOT YET BEEN SECURED. ANNUAL AWARDS WILL BE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THIS EVENT. NIGHT OUT WITH CEUs! For Members Only!
Social Worker’s evening out. Region 2 is hosting a presentation/discussion group the first Tuesday of each month at the home of member, Susan Johnston. There will be a featured topic and presenter. This will qualify for Category II CEUs. RSVPs will be greatly appreciated in order to have enough seating and snacks. If you have attended a seminar or read a book on a specific topic of interest and would like to present information in this format, please call Karen Maes at 574-993-7650. We will skip December and resume on January 5, 2010. The discussion will begin at 6 and go to approximately 8 pm.
